How It Works

How It Works: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 acts as a biomimetic peptide that mimics the activity of thrombospondin-1 to activate latent TGF-β, thereby stimulating collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix production in the skin.

  • Binds to and activates latent TGF-β to its functional form
  • Promotes synthesis of collagen types I, II, and IV
  • Enhances extracellular matrix production and organization
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles by improving skin elasticity and firmness.

Supramolecular collagen nanoparticles for anti-wrinkle, skin whitening, and moisturizing effects.

Chen. Wanling W; Xiang. Nanxi N; Huang. Jiahong J; Xu. Huixian H; Wang. Zhenyuan...

A new skin‑care formula packs the peptide palmitoyl‑tripeptide‑5 inside tiny collagen‑lactoferrin particles, boosting its ability to get through the skin; in a 2‑4‑week test users saw more moisture, firmer and more elastic skin, lighter spots and fewer wrinkles.

Delivery of Active Peptides by Self-Healing, Biocompatible and Supramolecular Hydrogels.

The study tested a new skin-friendly gel that can hold active peptides. While the gel is safe for cells and has good mechanical properties, it only let one peptide (Trifluoroacetyl tripeptide‑2) pass through the skin. The other peptide we care about, Palmitoyl‑tripeptide‑5, barely crossed the skin barrier.

Efficacy of bioactive peptides loaded on hyaluronic acid microneedle patches: A monocentric clinical study.

Avcil. Muhammet M; Akman. Gokhan G; Klokkers. Jens J; Jeong. Dohyeon D; Çel...

A 12‑week study found that hyaluronic‑acid microneedle patches loaded with a mix of skin‑boosting ingredients, including palmitoyl‑tripeptide‑5, were well tolerated and noticeably improved skin appearance: wrinkles dropped about 26%, hydration rose 15%, and the skin’s density and thickness each increased roughly 13‑14%. The results suggest that this multi‑peptide microneedle format can be an effective, non‑invasive way to combat visible signs of aging.
