Calmodulin-binding peptides interfere with melanocyte-stimulating hormone receptor activity and stimulate adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate production in M2R mouse melanoma cells.

Eshel. Y Y; Salomon. Y Y

This study looks at how certain lab‑made peptides that bind calmodulin can block the natural hormone receptor for melanin production in mouse melanoma cells and oddly boost a signaling molecule (cAMP) when the hormone isn’t present. It’s a detailed cell‑biology experiment and doesn’t test melanotan‑I or give any tips for human use.

Subpicomolar sensing of delta-opioid receptor ligands by molecular-imprinted polymers using plasmon-waveguide resonance spectroscopy.

Devanathan. Savitha S; Salamon. Zdzislaw Z; Nagar. Anoop A; Narang. Subhash S; Schleich. Donald D; D...

This study describes a new type of synthetic sensor that can detect a specific opioid receptor peptide (DPDPE) at extremely low concentrations. It focuses on the chemistry and physics of the sensor, not on any health or performance effects of melanotan‑I or related peptides.

Three novel human sporadic melanoma cell lines: signaling pathways controlled by MC1R, BRAF and β-catenins.

Zanna. P P; Maida. I I; Grieco. C C; Guida. S S; Turpin Sevilla. M C MC; De Summa. S S; Tommasi. S S...

The study looked at how melanoma cancer cells respond to signals involving the MC1R receptor, BRAF mutations, and beta‑catenin, and found that even when the MC1R gene looks normal, its signaling is broken and the cells don’t react to the peptide melanotan‑I. This is mainly a basic cancer‑research finding and doesn’t give any practical tips for health‑hacking or longevity.
