[Use of thymalin in trauma patients].
Gurevich. K Ia KIa; Khavinson. V Kh VKh; Morozov. V G VG
Key Findings
- Thymalin was administered to trauma patients as part of a complex treatment
- Patients showed fewer infectious complications and a smoother clinical course
- Immune system measurements returned toward normal levels
Practical Outcomes
- Thymalin might be useful as an immune‑support supplement after severe injury, but the study is tiny and lacks dosage details. Enthusiasts should treat it as experimental and seek medical guidance before trying it.
Summary
A small study gave the peptide thymalin to 23 people with serious injuries and found it helped lower infection rates, speed up recovery, and bring immune system markers back to normal. The results are promising but limited, so it’s not a proven protocol yet.
Abstract
A clinical study of the thymus preparation Thymalin was carried out in 23 patients with special reference to its use for prevention and treatment of infectious complications of critical traumas. The complex treatment can improve the clinical course of the trauma disease and normalize immune indices of the patients.
