[Cataract extraction in a patient with sympathetic uveitis after immunity correcting therapy].
Tsvetkov. A L AL; Filippova. S V SV; Radzivil. T T TT
Key Findings
- Thymogen was used as an immune‑correcting therapy
- Improved T‑cell immunity allowed successful cataract extraction
- Combination with routine uveitis treatment led to good surgical outcome
Practical Outcomes
- The case suggests thymogen might aid immune recovery in eye inflammation, but it’s just one report and not a proven protocol for most people.
Summary
A single patient with eye inflammation and weak T-cell immunity was given thymogen, an immune‑boosting peptide, together with standard eye treatment. This helped improve the immune state enough to safely have cataract surgery and recover well.
Abstract
A complicated cataract on the only eye was effectively extracted in a patient with uveitis running a sluggish course with manifest disorders of T-cell immunity. Immune correction in combination with routine therapy of uveitis helped prepare the patient to surgery for cataract and attain good results.
