Scientists made a tiny particle that holds a green‑tea compound (EGCG) and attaches it to a short peptide (nonapeptide‑1). This combo protects EGCG from breaking down, lets it release slowly, blocks UV light, and helps reduce skin pigment and DNA damage caused by sun exposure, making it a potentially stronger anti‑aging skin treatment.

A randomized controlled pilot study of a proprietary combination versus sunscreen in melasma maintenance.

A small pilot study tested a special cream that mixes sunscreen with ingredients like nonapeptide‑1, phenyl ethyl resorcinol and antioxidants. After the usual triple‑therapy for melasma, people who used this combo kept their skin clearer longer than those who only used sunscreen, but the differences weren’t statistically solid because the study was tiny.
